2023 IGF/Insulin Gordon Research Seminar – Recap

Events, IGF News

The IGF and Insulin System in Physiology and Disease Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) was held in conjunction with the IGF and Insulin System in Physiology and Disease GRC. The GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work through oral and poster sessions, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators. The 2023 IGF/Insulin GRS was co-chaired by Sher Bahadur Poudel and Martina Chrudinova. A keynote session was on “Unconventional Insulins”. Other oral sessions included the following topics:

  • Insulin/IGF System in Evolution, Metabolism and Metabolic Diseases
  • Insulin and IGFs in Growth, Development, Tissue Regeneration and Cancer
  • Career Development for Students, Postdocs and Research Scientists

Our Journal

Did you know? The original journal of the International Society for IGF research was entitled “Growth Regulation”. GH and IGF Research started in 1998 as the journal of the two societies, GRS and IGF. It combined “Growth Regulation” and “Endocrinology and Metabolism” and coincided with the amalgamation of their publishers, Churchill Livingstone and WB Saunders.

The IGF Research Society and The Growth Hormone Socieity now publish a common journal: “The Journal of GH and IGF Research”.
